Ms. Skillan Interview

One of Elizabethtown Area School District’s (EASD) new teachers this year is Mrs. Skillan. Recently, the Expression had the pleasure of interviewing her. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Social Studies Education from Millersville University. She chose to focus on teaching social studies because she is fascinated with how past events are interconnected.

She came to EASD because of the Four Diamond fund. In 1972, an 8th grade student named Chris Millard died of cancer. His parents founded the Four Diamonds fund in his memory. Our commitment to Four Diamonds and our connection with Four Diamonds through former student Chris Millard sparked her interest in EASD.

Outside of school, Skillan is currently binge watching House of the Dragons, which is the prequel to the hit series Game of Thrones. Two of her favorite movies are Thor: Ragnarok and V for Vendetta. Her favorite animal is a dragon. She loves how they are depicted in lore and how people have claimed to have seen the mythical creatures throughout history. One of her hidden talents is cooking; she loves making pasta and cooking for her family. The Expression welcomes Ms. Skillan to EAHS; we’re glad to have you.
